Hey team,

 I FINALLY got Ansys to do a import of Pro-E files

The new license from Ansys crop is installed on the ansys license server as of Thursday Feb 12.

In order for this to work correctly you need to ensure two items are done.

1.  Make sure the patch for pro-e was run on the local box (I have the fix under the ptc directory on depot), it is for version 2001 only.

2.    Make sure pro-e is linked into ansys by doing the following:

click on start>programs>ansys 7.0>utilities>ANS_ADMIN

make sure configuration options is selected and click on ok

select Configure Connection for Pro/E and click on ok

ansys ResearchFS and win32 should be selected and press ok

this will result in

click on ok

then in the next screen for the path to proe put in

c:\program files\proe2001   (or the appropriate path only up to the proe directory..dont put any directory below it)

language is usascii

click on ok

and  you will see

(if this is the 1^st time you are doing this you will see “added” instead of “replaced”

now your back to the main screen for ans_admin, click on OK  and you are done

To test:

Start Ansys and click on File>import>pro-e and pick a prt or asm file and you should be set.
